Annie the star!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

Wow! What a great day we had at the show yesterday! You probably already know how well Annie, Spike and Lula did from our Facebook page, but we promised you a more detailed update, so here it is 🙂

Lula: She was in a tough class for her Olympian and was beaten by a fantastic Maine Coon lady who is much more mature and has so far achieved Olympian Silver.  But all was not lost as she got Best of Breed, and then came 2nd and 4th in her side classes which were: Any Variety Foreign Senior Neuter and Any Variety Foreign Visitors Neuter. The Senior class is open to all cats who are 2 years old and above, and the visitor class means they don’t live in the area where the show is held. Foreign is the category that all Bengals belong to for GCCF cat shows, and it includes lots of other breeds like Russian Blue, Ocicats, Sphynx and many more.

Spike: He was in a competitive brown spotty kitten class! He managed to get first place in the breed class, but was beaten to best of breed by our breeder’s wonderful kitten, Lucy. This is the last time, however, that Spike and Lucy will be competing against each other at shows because Lucy will no longer be classed as a kitten at her next show, she will be going into the Adult classes as she is not a neuter; once Spike reaches 9 months old+ he will compete in the Neuter classes 🙂

Spike’s side classes all had lots of lovely kittens competing against him, but he managed to win them all, including one where he beat Lucy! That was in the class “Any Variety Foreign Tabby Kitten” 🙂 The other two side classes he won were “Any Variety Foreign Kitten not Bred by Exhibitor” and “Any Variety Foreign Limit Kitten”.

Annie: Little Annie! Spike’s results were fantastic, but Annie’s were even better! She of course competes in the Household Pet section due to her jaw being a little misaligned. She came first in her breed class, then she got best of breed. Then she won all her side classes which were:

Prettiest Adult or Kitten, Female

Most Appealing Adult or Kitten

Annie’s classes were quite small, but she then went on to beat lots of other wonderful pedigree pets to win Best in Show Pedigree Pet! So that meant she went to the Best in Show pens to compete against the Best in Show non-Pedigree Pet for Overall Best in Show Household Pet!

After a short wait, the judge came along to show all the gathered crowd who she had decided was Overall Best in Show….

And the winner is….

And little Annie it was! What a clever girl! We were all so proud of her 🙂

So that was the end of a wonderful day 🙂 After all the photos were taken and the formalities done, it was then time to pack up and set off for home where all of us had a special dinner and lots of my favourite chicken treats 🙂

Take care my friends!

Love from Spot

    1. Thank you, Paul! I am semi-retired from showing, so won’t be going to any for a while. I don’t think Lula will be going to the next show, it will just be Spike and Annie 🙂 xx

  1. Oh, how wonderful! Congratulations all, of course, but well done Annie! You are a little sweetheart, and deserved every win .

  2. Congratulations! What a fantastic day and wonderful results. Well done Annie, Spikey and Lula – and of course Mummy and Daddy for all of their hard work. Not to mention Spooty cat’s hard work making sure everything ran smoothly at home. Lovely pictures too.

    1. Thanks, Nicola, and thanks too for travelling down to see us all at the show! Annie, Spike and Lula said it was lovely to meet you <3 xxx

  3. I didn’t realise little Annie had a misaligned jaw. 🙁 She is still a very pretty girl and it obviously doesn’t bother her. Well done Annie, Spike and Lula. What a good day you all had. x

    1. Thank you, Pauline! 🙂 It doesn’t bother her in the slightest 🙂 You would never know unless you examined her mouth quite closely 🙂 But it is still a show fault for the normal pedigree classes, so that’s why she’s entered into the pedigree pet section 🙂 xxx

  4. I’m in tears again reading about all your successes. Well done Lula and Spike, Annie you were awesome, what a day for you 3 kitties and Mummy and Daddy, you were all fantastic. And well done Spotty cat who looked after the family estate while the others were having fun at the cat show, I hope your contribution was rewarded with lots of chicken treats lol. Now you’ve all got a lot to live up to, I think all the BCW kitties are stars and I love you all xxxxxxxxx <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  5. What a dream day for you kitties at the Show. I’m sure Mum and Dad are over the moon at your successes.. Poor Annie could hardly see out of her pen for all those glorious rosettes ! I wonder if she was thinking they were all new pretty toys for her to play with? Can just imagine the sort of competition Lula has to face to progress further. But keep at it sweetie, you will get there before too much longer. As for Spike, what a great start to his Show career, great stuff. And dear Spot, you must be so proud of your pals – you’ve been there and done that, with great results yourself. BTW thanks to your Dad for giving us a running commentary, it was most enjoyable. He pretends to be bored by it all, but I’m sure he is basking in the success too. And it was also good to know Mum’s stall did well – all this Show business is no doubt pretty costly. Can’t wait for the next outing – when and where will that be ?

    1. Thanks for your kind words, Mavis! The next show is one of our favourites – it’s the Bengal Cat Club show on 1st November 🙂 xx
