Lazy Weekend in our World!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

Well, we have had no snow to report in our World which is most disappointing. Or at least Lula thinks it is anyway. Did you know that The Peskies (Annie and Spike) have never even seen proper snow? They saw a light covering last year, but as soon as it was here, it was gone again! I didn’t even get enough time to wake up from my nice catnap before it had disappeared :)

This has been an unusual weekend for us – no shows, nothing very exciting happening either. My daddy was still getting over the little bug he had in the week, so the hoomins hardly went out at all!

The Spike Pesky was very happy as this meant he spent lots of time with mummy in her office whilst she worked on things for the store and packing up the orders. Spike is very much a mummy’s boy because she gives him lots of cuddles and treats. I allowed my mummy to give me some cuddles and even a kiss or two today, seeing as it’s Mother’s Day here in the UK, but usually I draw the line at her giving me some nice treats and that’s it  Unless I’m in a cuddly mood of course, which happens more than I care to admit :D

Meanwhile, the rest of us pottered around really! Here’s some snapshots of our weekend :)

When Spike wasn’t smooching around in mummy’s office, he enjoyed a bit of birdie watching in the garden

Daddy put together the cat tree that Annie won for being Best in Show recently – it’s a purrfect fit!

Meanwhile, Friday was birdie watching from the Tigga Towers in the conservatory – a much more comfortable way of doing so!

Whilst, I had to share the top bunk with Harry (again…!) It’s not like there isn’t enough space, he always has to come and sit on me when I’m up there! *sigh* :D

Robbie had the right idea and went up to the heated floor in the bathroom for his nap in the squidgy purple bed :)

Whilst Lula concentrated more on a bit of purrsonal hygiene in the old cat tree by the door :)

So another Monday is nearly upon us, and I wonder what this week will bring? I’m thinking some nice tuna and some of my favourite chicken treats would be a good start :)

Take care my friends!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

I hope you’re all having a lovely Valentine’s Day! ♥ ♥ ♥

Instead of you all having to listen to me rambling on in today’s blog, I thought I’d do a photo blog, sharing some of our favourite pics of pairs! Pairs of us lot of course, to celebrate this romantic day ;) Though not all of the pics are very romantic  But they fitted the theme … kind of!

Girls’ Day Out!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

I’ve just woken up from a nice catnap in the warmth, listening to the wind howling outside and the rain pelting down. I’m so lucky to have a snuggly place or two to rest my weary head :)

Anyway, I woke up to tell you all about the show yesterday where Annie was competing and Lula was showing off!

I knew something was going on the day before the show as my daddy decided to give Lula a bath! Lula wasn’t all that impressed by it, but she seemed to scrub up really well! Annie had had a bath earlier in the week after she’d been out in the cat garden and rolled in some unimaginable things: they were not pleasant and quite smelly – silly girl!

So the two girls were all dressed up with somewhere to go when Saturday morning (very early morning I might add) arrived and the hoomins were up way before the crack of dawn doing their usual hoomin things. Then it was time for me to have some peace and quiet and some nice catnaps as they were soon gone and a nice calm re-emerged in my house ;)

The show wasn’t too far away, and they battled through the stormy weather to get there nice and early. They were soon settled in their pens – Annie in her usual show pen which has to be all white and anonymous, but Lula in her posh exhibition pen where she once again strutted her showgirl stuff!

Lula is retired from competitive shows, but still really likes to go out and show off, so it was really great for her to have the opportunity at this show :) She was also right next to mummy’s stall so she had company all day long :)

When she wasn’t strutting her stuff, she was either going out for a walk and checking out all the stalls…

…Or she was just chillin’!

She had a lovely rosette provided by the show which shows her posh pedigree name which my mummy loves! :)

Meanwhile, whilst Lula was showing off to the visitors and trade stand holders, Annie was being judged in the competitive classes! She is now in the very top class – the Olympian! There are three levels to Olympian – you have to get 5 Olympian certificates from 5 different judges to earn the title ‘Olympian Bronze'; then 5 more for Silver and then 5 more for Gold! As you can imagine, it is very elite to be Olympian Gold as not only do you have to win all those certificates, but you’re also up against a lot more cats than for previous titles.

So this was Annie’s first attempt to win an Olympian certificate… and win it she did! What a clever girl! Here’s her certificate so you can see what it looks like! :)

Annie’s Olympian certificate

She was then up against a lovely boy for Best in Colour, but guess what? She won that too! :)

Then it was her side classes and the first one was the one that mummy always wants her to win – Prettiest Female! She was against a very pretty girl for that, but she only went ahead and won it! :) Sweet!

Then, in her final class, she was up against 3 other cats for ‘Best Household Pet under 2 Years Old’… they had to wait a while for those results, but it was worth the wait as she went ahead and won that class too! Clever poppet!

Here she is in her pen with all her achievements on show!

Clever Annie :)

And here’s her Olympian rosette which is now also in mummy’s office ;)

Our first Olympian rosette :)

So Annie had what is known as a ‘red card day’ which means she won every class she was entered into :)  What a little star :)

Then, it was time to pack up and head home with the weather even worse than it had been in the morning, though no-one was too worried about that ;)

Our next show is in a few weeks where not only will Annie and Spike be going, but also little old me! It will be a brown spotty day out ;)

Take care my friends! :)

Let’s do the timewarp!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

Phew! What terrible weather we’re having in our World recently! It’s been so bad, I’ve been forced to stay indoors a lot of the time and have lots of catnaps ;)

We therefore don’t have many tails to share this week, so we thought we’d take a trip down memory lane to November 2014!

We started off by going to one of our favourite shows – the Bengal Cat Club show which we also went to last week and I wrote about in my previous post ;)

Last year, Spike did very well, coming first and winning Best of Breed :)

Clever Boy

But Annie did even better, winning first place, Best in Class, Best in Show Pedigree Pet and then Overall Best in Show Household Pet!

Of course, we also spent time in our cat garden as the weather seemed so much better than it does this year!

I never managed to quite get away from those peskies…

Anything you can do…

We were all still quite curious about mummy’s office, as it had only recently been finished

Hey Lula, this is new!

Or at least, some of us were curious….

Annie seemed to think that praying for nice things to happen was a good move

But she enjoyed hanging out in the fresh air not doing much too :)

Spike meanwhile continued to show off his laid back skills

And then, at the end of the month, Annie and Spike went to our other favourite show, The Supreme! It was held later than it was this year and again both did very well with them both getting first place and best of breed in their respective classes

But at the end of the day, what we all really enjoy most is a nice catnap, and we found a lovely spot in mummy’s new office where we could all indulge together!

We hope you enjoyed doing the time warp with us!

More Whoopsies!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

We’ve had a glorious weekend in our World! The last little bit of the warmer weather is hanging on by its claws :) So we’ve been making the most of it outside in our cat garden :) We hope you have had a lovely weekend too?

My hoomins have been very busy, though, so they’ve not had much chance to take many pics of us today, so I though it would be fun to share with you some more of our pics that should never be published! Lol :) My mummy would be quite annoyed if she found out I was showing off all her bad photography, so don’t tell her will you? Our little secret lol :)

So the first lesson for my mummy is that it’s usually a good idea to get the whole cat in the pic…

I do have legs too, you know…

But I suppose at least she managed to get my face in that pic… she quite often doesn’t even manage that!

Hmmm.. Is that meant to be a pic of Spike?

And again! (I said it was quite often, though she blames it on US! Saying we never sit still – how rude!)

No cats in the shot this time!

Of course, there are times we just don’t want our photo to be taken

Annie refuses to look at the camera! :)

Sometimes you can see the whole cat, but we insist on pulling a funny face… just because we can ;)

Lula pulling a face at a petal :)

Or sometimes we like to cover up our face with a handy branch!

Lula says that was a handy branch!

On other occasions, mummy takes the pic just at the wrong time

I’m not really beating up Annie… honest!

And sometimes she takes a lovely pic! (if only it was in focus!)

Zzzz… Zzzz… Zzzz…

And on that note…. you’ve guessed it! I think it’s about time I had a nice catnap :)

Take care my friends!

Our Not-Very-Furry Friends!

Hello my friends, Spot here!

We’ve had a bit of a chilly week in our World! I think Autumn is on its way, though the weather pawcast said it might warm up a bit this week  I wish it would work out what it wants to do, as I just can’t get into a nice routine when I’m not sure what’s happening ;)

But enough of the weather, let’s talk about us instead  And today I thought I’d recognise all our non-furry friends we have in our cat garden :) They do a fantastic job, just sitting there minding their own business, looking nice, and I just didn’t think they had enough praise, so am putting that right today! :)

First of all, and you’ll know by now what a big fan Clint is of mine – he even named one of his film characters after a friend in our garden: The Cat With No Name! We often have a nice chat with him and, despite his stony and still exterior, he actually moves too! :)

But I generally prefer to hang out with friends who are a little more educated….

Me with my learned friend :)

… though I must admit, he can be a little boring sometimes
Spike prefers a more comfortable snooze on Geoff the Giraffe :)

Whilst Annie befriends things you wouldn’t expect, like birdies and mousies!

But Annie says, when it’s all too monotonous talking to her friends in the cat garden, there’s always the big garden to explore which daddy lets her do very frequently!

Hello! I’m in the big garden!

So I suppose we’re very lucky to have so many friends in our garden, I have no idea why Annie wants to play outside of it so often :)

Now I’m off for a nice catnap – I think I might take a leaf out of Spike’s book and settle down with Geoff :)

Take care my friends!
