We are so excited… but why?

Hello my friends, Spot here!

We hope you’ve had a lovely weekend? Ours has been very busy… well, when I say “ours” I really mean my mummy and daddy’s because all I’ve actually done is sleep, play and eat 🙂 My mummy and daddy have been all over the country to a craft fair yesterday and then going somewhere down south today… it’s all too energetic for me! 😯

But I expect you’re wondering what we’re all getting so excited about? Well, next Caturday is going to be a momentous day! It’s the day of Spike and Annie’s first competitive show! 🙂 If you live near Worcester in the UK and fancy coming along you can email us if you wish and we can let you have more info 🙂

Thinking of the show, though, has been bringing back lots of memories of our first shows! So we thought we’d share these memories with you as I know a lot of you probably didn’t follow us then… in fact, thinking about it further, we didn’t have our page set up then so none of you did! 😆

Lula and I didn’t go to the same show for our first ones: Lula went to the Tabby Cat Club show which takes place at the beginning of October (and which is our next competitive show after the one on Caturday) whereas I went to the Ocicat and Bengal Cat Club show at the end of October, a Club which sadly no longer exists and that was their very last show, though we didn’t know that at the time.

So over to Lula! She did very well at her first show, finishing first in two classes and second in the other two! Here she is showing off, though the pics were taken on an iPhone so are not up to our usual standards 😉

What’s going on here then?

Very settled

She was very well behaved and was nice to the judges, and was even quite quiet! All very unusual for Lula and a habit she soon got out of 😆

I did even better at my first show! I got a 3rd, 2nd and 1st in my side classes… but in my breed class, I not only came first, but I then also got Best of Breed and even better than that, I got Best in Show Kitten! 😀 I even beat Sultan who was an older kitten than me at the time – he is our breeder’s stud cat and also Spike and Annie’s granddad!

In my Best in Show pen 🙂

So it will be so interesting to see how Spike and Annie do! As we’ve mentioned before, Spike will be in the usual pedigree breed section, like Lula and I have been, whereas Annie will be in the pedigree Household Pet section as she has a slight misalignment of her jaw which is a show fault and means she can’t compete in the other classes. But this will be fun!

Let’s hope the pair of them will be as relaxed at their first competitive show as they were at the Pet Show a few weeks ago when they were on exhibition to help promote the Bengal breed 🙂

Zzzz… Zzzz… Zzzz…

Take care my friends!

Love from Spot
